“Therefore, brothers and sisters, since we have confidence to enter the Most Holy Place by the blood of Jesus, 20 by a new and living way opened for us through the curtain, that is, his body, 21 and since we have a great priest over the house of God, 22 let us draw near to God with a sincere heart and with the full assurance that faith brings, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water.” Hebrews 10:19-22 NIV

God most Holy,

You are so Holy that Aarons two sons were burned up when they entered the holy place with the wrong fire in their censors (Leviticus 10:1,2). The children of Israel were warned not to come near the mountain, on fear of death, when Moses climbed to receive the ten commandments from You (Exodus 19).

Yet here, in Hebrews, we read that we are freed from fear and given confidence. Confidence not just to approach You but to enter right into Your presence. No separation, no curtain in any Temple and no priest to go to You before us. A new and living way in Jesus. Confident, we do not need to offer sacrifices. Confident we do not have to have a special dispensation or status. Confident You see us in Jesus, forgiven, washed, cleansed by and in His holiness.

We can approach with confidence, with free untroubled hearts and receive mercy all because of Jesus. Confident we will be welcomed, wanted and washed. Hallelujah.

In Jesus name we pray, Amen.

Suggestions for prayer . . .
God most Holy,

For family, friends, neighbours, confident that You hear our prayers for them and answer in th best way possible for good.
For our church family, ministers and all who serve to know Your presence in all they do.
For the Royal family to know and trust You. For Charles to be healed and family rifts to be mended.
For our government and MPs and their families. Give us the people we need to lead our nation.
For world Governments to make selfless decisions for the good of peace and humanity.
For Ukraine and Gaza permanent peace. Along with Yemen, Myanmar, North Korea, Chine, Sudan, Syria and other countries where there is war, aggression, oppression, dictatorship, slavery.
For our hospitals and emergency services.
Those who are working towards keeping our rivers and oceans unpolluted. Those working to cut out the use of harmful plastics.
Bless us with a good day, a good nights sleep and a clean heart.

In Jesus name we pray, Amen.

My hope is built on nothing less
Than Jesus blood and righteousness
I dare not trust the sweetest friend
But wholly trust in Jesus name

Christ alone, Cornerstone
Weak made strong, In the Saviour’s love
Through the storm
He is Lord, Lord of all

When darkness seems to hide His face
I rest on His unchanging grace
In every high and stormy gale
My anchor holds within the veil
My anchor holds within the veil (Oh)

When He shall come with trumpet sound
Oh, may I then in Him be found
Dressed in His righteousness alone
Faultless stand before the throne
