“The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it. The world and all its people belong to him. For he laid the earth’s foundation on the seas and built it on the ocean depths. Who may climb the mountain of the Lord? Who may stand in his holy place? Only those whose hands and hearts are pure, who do not worship idols and never tell lies. They will receive the Lord’s blessing and have a right relationship with God their savior. Such people may seek you and worship in your presence, O God of Jacob. Interlude

Open up, ancient gates! Open up, ancient doors, and let the King of glory enter.
Who is the King of glory? The Lord, strong and mighty; the Lord, invincible in battle.

Open up, ancient gates! Open up, ancient doors, and let the King of glory enter.
10 Who is the King of glory? The Lord of Heaven’s Armies—he is the King of glory. Interlude” Psalm 24

Glorious King of Kings,

This is a little Psalm with BIG concepts! Was written for when David returned the Ark of the Covenant to Jerusalem? (2 Samuel 6:15) After Your anger God because they did not obeying the way Your Ark should be respected and moved. (2 Samuel 6:6-7).

David notes that You, the God who is the King of glory and mighty in battle is willing and open to sinful man. It doesn’t diminish Your glory or might it shows us Your heart and character. David calls out for the gates of Jerusalem to open and let them in. He then repeats the request for emphasis. Even a King had to ask for entrance.

What a picture this is for when Your Son Jesus came and was open to mankind even though they could not keep their own hands and hearts clean. He too wanted to enter into our hearts so they could be cleansed, healed, washed and loved. In Revelation 3:20 Jesus says, “Look! I stand at the door and knock. If you hear my voice and open the door, I will come in, and we will share a meal together as friends. 21 Those who are victorious will sit with me on my throne, just as I was victorious and sat with my Father on his throne.”

Now we can know we have pure hands and hearts when we open our hearts gates to You, the King of Glory. You seek us and knock and if we respond we can find You and worship in Your presence. Lord of Heavens Armies protect and keep our hearts open to You all the days of our life and protenct us from the enemy.

In Jesus name we pray, Amen.

Worship Wednesday 21st May 2025

The King of Glory reigns
Over all the world
His mighty hand sustains
The heavens and the earth.
Who may come to Him
And seek His holy face?

He calls the pure in heart
All whose hands are clean
And those who love His name
Above all other things
Humbly I will bow
And Jesus’ Name confess

He reigns, He reigns
Jesus the Lord
He reigns, He reigns
Forevermore

Swing wide you ancient gates
Let the King come in
His glory never fades
Our hearts delight in Him
Every knee will bow
Every tongue confess

Chorus twice . . .

Who is this King of glory
The Lord strong and mighty
He bore the cross of shame
Sing Hosanna

Repeat the above twice

Chorus twice . . .
