“And he cast two pillars of bronze, each one eighteen cubits high, and a line of twelve cubits measured the circumference of each. 16 Then he made two capitals of cast bronze, to set on the tops of the pillars. The height of one capital was five cubits, and the height of the other capital was five cubits. 17 He made a lattice network, with wreaths of chainwork, for the capitals which were on top of the pillars: seven chains for one capital and seven for the other capital. 18 So he made the pillars, and two rows of pomegranates above the network all around to cover the capitals that were on top; and thus he did for the other capital.
19 The capitals which were on top of the pillars in the hall were in the shape of lilies, four cubits. 20 The capitals on the two pillars also had pomegranates above, by the convex surface which was next to the network; and there were two hundred such pomegranates in rows on each of the capitals all around. 21 Then he set up the pillars by the vestibule of the temple; he set up the pillar on the right and called its name Jachin, and he set up the pillar on the left and called its name Boaz. 22 The tops of the pillars were in the shape of lilies. So the work of the pillars was finished.” 1 Kings 7:15-22 NKJV
God of the detail,
I love the lavish decorations and the specific directions for making each part of the Temple. So on approaching the Temple everyone would see the tow pillars. Bronze lavishly decorated with pomegranates, lattices of chainwork and lilies. In exquisite detail. Massive, weighty and yet exquisite and with safe passage between.
Jachin and Boaz. The meaning of the names being He establishes and he strengthens. A constant reminder as they entered to worship that You, God establish and strengthen them not the Temple.
You will establish and will strengthen us now. Paul explains that we are now Your Temple (1 Corinthians 6:19-20) You dwell in us. And we now have You, God on the throne of our heart, Jesus who establishes us as Your children and Your Holy Spirit who strengthens us and uphold us.
The Temple is now just a bit of precious wall. Keep us safe. strengthen and establish us so we cannot be brought down.
In Jesus name we pray, Amen.

Worthy of every song we could ever sing
Worthy of all the praise we could ever bring
Worthy of every breath we could ever breathe

Jesus, the only One who could ever save
Worthy of every breath we could ever breathe
We live for You, we live for You

Holy, there is no one like You, there is none beside You
Open up my eyes in wonder and
Show me who You are and fill me with Your heart
And lead me in Your love to those around me
Jesus, the name above every other name
Jesus, the only One who could ever save
You’re worthy of every breath we could ever breathe
We live for You, oh, we live for You
Chorus
And I will build my life upon Your love, it is a firm foundation
And I will put my trust in You alone and I will not be shaken
And I will build my life upon Your love, it is a firm foundation
And I will put my trust in You alone and I will not be shaken
Chorus
And I will build my life upon Your love, it is a firm foundation
And I will put my trust in You alone and I will not be shaken.
