“The Lord has given me a strong warning not to think like everyone else does. He is the one who should make you tremble. 14He will keep you safe. But to Israel and Judah he will be a stone that makes people stumble, a rock that makes them fall. With their whisperings and mutterings, they will tell us what to do.” But shouldn’t people ask God for guidance? God unchanging,
I am struck by how this passage speaks to our day and Your family in Christ now, just as it did in the day of Your people of Judah. You do not change and it seems we need to hear the same warning over and over again. I hope we heed them. Perhaps we have an advantage . . . in Jesus Not to think like anyone else does. – We have the Holy Spirit and the mind of Christ. (1 Corinthians 2:12, 16).
Not to believe conspiracy theories and live in dread of what frightens us. We will not be influenced when people try to trick us with lies so clever they sound like the truth (Ephesians 4:14). Jesus said, “What is the price of five sparrows—two copper coins? Yet God does not forget a single one of them. And the very hairs on your head are all numbered. So don’t be afraid; you are more valuable to God than a whole flock of sparrows.” (Luke 12:7)
Not to be like Israel and Judah and see God as a stone that makes people stumble, a rock that makes them fall. – Jesus, became the stone that the builders rejected and has now become the cornerstone of the church. (Matthew 21:42)
To preserve the teaching of God. – Let the Word of Christ dwell in you richly (Colossians 3:16) All scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching (2 Timothy 3:16).
And so it goes on Lord. And we will consult You and not the dead for You were resurrected, nothing can kill you. We will live in the light, let our light shine and not hide it . . . and be grateful that You have conquered the darkness.
