All Powerful God,
One man has learned that God’s way is best. Moses draws near when You call, God, but the children of Israel back off. They had all witnessed the same plagues in Egypt. All been protected form them while the Egyptians suffered. All seen the angel of death pass over their houses when the first born Egyptians were killed. All seen the waters part at the Red Sea and actually walked through on dry land. They had all seen the Egyptians drowned.
They were all gathering their miraculous daily bread in the wilderness and had seen water spring from a rock when they were thirsty.
Yet they drew back and Moses drew near. And they preferred to hide behind Moses skirts so to speak and let him do all the talking to You. They did not want a relationship with You God. They just wanted someone to take the responsibility and enjoy all the benefits..
Today Lord, sometimes it is the same with us. We want to sit back and enjoy all the benefits. But You, God want to be with us every minute of the day for our good.. You want a personal relationship with each one of us. Not for harm or to punish or to fill us with fear from thunderings. But in Jesus to be able to step forward and take responsibility for our own walk with You. So we can know You, our heavenly Father (1 John 3:1) and how good You are (James 1:17). And because of Jesus we need not be afraid (Luke 12:32). We can know You in all Your fulness..
