“So he left Asaph and his brothers there before the ark of the covenant of the Lord to minister before the ark regularly, as every day’s work required; 38 and Obed-Edom with his sixty-eight brethren, including Obed-Edom the son of Jeduthun, and Hosah, to be gatekeepers; 39 and Zadok the priest and his brethren the priests, before the tabernacle of the Lord at the high place that was at Gibeon, 40 to offer burnt offerings to the Lord on the altar of burnt offering regularly morning and evening, and to do according to all that is written in the Law of the Lord which He commanded Israel; 41 and with them Heman and Jeduthun and the rest who were chosen, who were designated by name, to give thanks to the Lord, because His mercy endures forever; 42 and with them Heman and Jeduthun, to sound aloud with trumpets and cymbals and the musical instruments of God. Now the sons of Jeduthun were gatekeepers.” 1 Chronicles 16:37-42 NKJV

“On that day David first delivered this psalm into the hand of Asaph and his brethren, to thank the Lord: Oh, give thanks to the Lord! Call upon His name; Make known His deeds among the peoples! Sing to Him, sing psalms to Him; Talk of all His wondrous works! 10 Glory in His holy name; Let the hearts of those rejoice who seek the Lord! 11 Seek the Lord and His strength;
Seek His face evermore! . . . ” 1 Chronicles 16:7-11 and Psalm 105:1-4 NKJV

Father God,

David had left the ark in the house of Obed-Edom when Uzziah died., because as a levite he should know how to honour and keep it in a right manner. And he and his family did and were greatly blessed by You Father (2 Samuel 6:11). It is no surprise then that he wants to remain close to the Ark and serve You. With all his relatives who have experienced Your blessing. David says in his Psalm they and we must tell everyone how great You are God.

When I had experienced God for the first time there was no going back. I could not deny You. I wanted to know more about this amazing loving God, more about Jesus. I wanted everyone to know. I wanted my family to know about You too. And some of them believed. Sadly some not.

But no-one who has a real encounter with You can be the same. Whether they want to know You or turn away. Help us to bridge the gap between knowing about and knowing You for those around us. Give us opportunity not to preach so much as chat and love the gospel into them. It is the most beautiful experience to see someone discover the blessings that come from You. Our name may not be in the Bible, like Obed-Edom, but it is in the book of life (Revelation 20:12-15). Father sobering yet very reassuring.

In Jesus name we pray, Amen.

Worship Monday 6th April 2026
Its more than worship it is Jesus words commissioning us . . . .

See my hands and look at my feet
It’s okay if it’s hard to believe
I have faith you will do greater things
It’s my time to go but before I leave

Go tell the world about me
I was dead but now I live
I’ve gotta go now for a little while
But goodbye is not the end

Don’t forget the things that I taught you
I’ve conquered death and I hold the keys
Where I go you will go too, someday
But there’s much to do here before you leave so . . .

Go tell the world about me
I was dead but now I live
I’ve gotta go now for a little while
But goodbye is not the end

End of the journey, the end of the road
My spirit is with you wherever you go
You have a purpose and I have a plan
I’ll make you this promise
I’ll come back again but until then

Go tell the world about me
I was dead but now I live
I’ve gotta go now for a little while
But goodbye is not the end
