“Stand up, plead my case before the mountains; let the hills hear what you have to say. “Hear, you mountains, the Lord’s accusation; listen, you everlasting foundations of the earth. For the Lord has a case against his people; he is lodging a charge against Israel. “My people, what have I done to you? How have I burdened you? Answer me. I brought you up out of Egypt and redeemed you from the land of slavery. I sent Moses to lead you, also Aaron and Miriam. My people, remember what Balak king of Moab plotted and what Balaam son of Beor answered. Remember your journey from Shittim to Gilgal, that you may know the righteous acts of the Lord.”

With what shall I come before the Lord and bow down before the exalted God? Shall I come before him with burnt offerings, with calves a year old? Will the Lord be pleased with thousands of rams, with ten thousand rivers of olive oil? Shall I offer my firstborn for my transgression, the fruit of my body for the sin of my soul? He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.” Micah 6:1-8 NIV

God of past, present and future,

A history lesson, Shittim, the last place they camped in the desert after being freed from Egypt. Gilgal the first place they camped in the promised land. And what happened? it was good to reread how Balaam’s donkey saved him from the angel (Numbers 22:21-31),and how he just could not curse Your people but only bless them. Balak was angry enough to explode! But he could not fight You Lord God (Numbers 24:1-10). Their battle to enter the promised land was also spiritual one. But You were faithful and Micah reminded them that You, God would be for them but that thousands of sacrifices are not what You, God requires.

You, Lord were and still are looking for a relationship with Your people. Where they seek You for who You are, how to live and how to go forward. Not just being good, but walking Your way in humility and not as if we know it all!.

We may not see the spiritual war going on around us. We do not always know when someone is plotting against us. Actually or spiritually. But You promised to fight for us. “ What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?” (Romans 8:31). I know it does not always mean we get the upper hand but we know that You are at work for good. Justice is not cancelled, sometimes it awaits a later time. And we need You to help us deal with our anger and hate and disappointment when the Balak’s of this world seem to have there way . . .

To act justly, love mercy and walk humbly- we can only achieve if we walk with You, Lord and seek Your forgiveness for when we fail. Trusting You to watch over us, in the battles we cannot see, and then ones we do, as we go.

In Jesus name we pray, Amen.

Worship Monday 28th July 2025

It all comes down to this
What you require of me
Love my neighbor as myself
And You above all things

Act justly, love mercy, walk humbly
With You, God
In all things, in all ways, walk humbly
With You, God

It all comes down to this
To be Your hands and feet
Good news to all the world
Oh the truth will set us free

Act justly, love mercy, walk humbly
With You, God
In all things, in all ways, walk humbly
With You, God

It’s beauty for ashes
It’s mourning to dancing
It’s closer and closer
The Kingdom of heaven
Beauty for ashes
It’s mourning to dancing
It’s closer and closer
The Kingdom of heaven

And years from now we’ll see
The fruit our hands have sown
Faith just like a seed
The only way it grows

Act justly, love mercy, walk humbly
With You, God
In all things, in all ways, walk humbly
With You, God

Sunday 27th July 2025

“But as for me, I am filled with power—with the Spirit of the Lord.
I am filled with justice and strength to boldly declare Israel’s sin and rebellion.
Listen to me, you leaders of Israel! You hate justice and twist all that is right.
10 You are building Jerusalem on a foundation of murder and corruption.
11 You rulers make decisions based on bribes; you priests teach God’s laws only for a price;
you prophets won’t prophesy unless you are paid. Yet all of you claim to depend on the Lord.
“No harm can come to us,” you say, “for the Lord is here among us.”” Micah 3:8-11 NLT

Lord,

We return to Micah speaking much as Isaiah did to Judah and Jerusalem but also to Israel. Faithfully giving Your Word. And I sit and think well that was the past and now we have the church and it is easy to become complacent.

We are still the same hard hearted sinners as they were. I can think of times when I did not want to sit and listen to the advice of others. I have not twisted the truth per say but have tried to make it fit my opinion . . . and sometimes we think we are the only ones who hear You Lord on some matter. Alas.

How often are there disputes in church because there is an unwillingness to listen to each other and respect a different view. Then when we decide something we ask You Lord to bless it. Rather than hearing from You and asking if we can help?

Today is Sunday a day of worship and learning and listening and coming humbly to remember Your Sons broken body and shed blood. Help us to keep the main thing the main thing. We want to following You, Lord together in the power of Your Spirit.

In Jesus name we pray, Amen.

Worship 27th July 2025

This we believe
That we have a Father
Creator who was and who is and will be
Who sent us His Son
And poured out His Spirit
With power to heal, resurrect, and redeem
The song of the saints forever will be

Glory to God the Father
Glory to Christ the Risen One
All hail the King
With Heaven sing
Hallelujah

This we believe
That we have a Savior
Jesus the Christ for our sin crucified
Oh yes, we believe
That on the third morning
Gone was the stone for He rose back to life
Forever He reigns let His praise fill the skies

Chorus

Amen, amen, amen, Hallelujah

We believe in the saving gospel
We believe in the living word
We believe in the Holy Spirit
Moving in His Holy Church
We believe in the King of Heaven
We believe that Jesus is coming again
Hallelujah, amen

We believe in the blood that washes
We believe in the cross that saves
We believe that the curse is broken
Buried in that borrowed grave
We believe in the resurrection
We believe that Jesus is coming again
Hallelujah, amen
Hallelujah

Chorus
Amen, amen, amen
Hallelujah
Amen, amen, amen
Hallelujah, amen

This we believe
Our King is returning
And He will wipe every tear from our eyes
Our crowns at His feet
His throne at the center
The song of the saints forever will rise
Amen

“A highway shall be there, and a road,
And it shall be called the Highway of Holiness.
The unclean shall not pass over it,
But it shall be for others.
Whoever walks the road, although a fool,
Shall not go astray.
No lion shall be there,
Nor shall any ravenous beast go up on it;
It shall not be found there.
But the redeemed shall walk there,
10 And the ransomed of the Lord shall return,
And come to Zion with singing,
With everlasting joy on their heads.
They shall obtain joy and gladness,
And sorrow and sighing shall flee away.”
Isaiah 35:8-10 NKJ

God and Shepherd,

I read this and see Your people coming back from exile in their future maybe on return from to rebuild the Temple in the time of Ezra and Nehemiah. Coming home to their beloved Jerusalem with great joy. And yet it has so much more to say?

The picture of the highway gives us a view of a road we have not yet fully seen? When we go walking and find the well trodden trail it is great, but when we are lost and find a real road with signposts we know we are on our way home. Thank you that You do signpost our way. Isaiah speaks of those thought foolish but who are not. Is he speaking of those who will believe in Jesus who ransoms from sin and death Those who will bow their knee to Jesus as Lord who will be allowed to walk on His holy road? Many do think us believers foolish. Isaiah speaks of a time when there will be no more sorrow, sighing, fear of death and wild beasts but much singing, joy and gladness.

We do walk the road of holiness with Jesus as He leads us now – but Isaiah tells us there will be a time when we clearly see the way like a great highway sweeping before us and filled with others who believe like us. Those who have chosen You as their God and will walk in harmony and worship together. One yet to come leading to a new heaven and a new earth? A timeless message.

Proverbs 3:6 reminds us to simply, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.”

In Jesus name we pray, Amen

Worship Saturday 26th July 2025

Therefore the redeemed of the Lord shall return,
And come with singing unto Zion;
And everlasting joy shall be upon their head.

Therefore the redeemed of the Lord shall return,
And come with singing unto Zion;
And everlasting joy shall be upon their head.

They shall obtain gladness and joy;
And sorrow and mourning shall flee away.
