“Then the disciple Jesus loved said to Peter, “It’s the Lord!” When Simon Peter heard that it was the Lord, he put on his tunic (for he had stripped for work), jumped into the water, and headed to shore. 8 The others stayed with the boat and pulled the loaded net to the shore, for they were only about a hundred yards from shore. 9 When they got there, they found breakfast waiting for them—fish cooking over a charcoal fire, and some bread. 10 “Bring some of the fish you’ve just caught,” Jesus said. 11 So Simon Peter went aboard and dragged the net to the shore. There were 153 large fish, and yet the net hadn’t torn. 12 “Now come and have some breakfast!” Jesus said. None of the disciples dared to ask him, “Who are you?” They knew it was the Lord. 13 Then Jesus served them the bread and the fish. 14 This was the third time Jesus had appeared to his disciples since he had been raised from the dead. ” John 21:7-14 NLT
Father God and Lord of all,
The horror, the shock, His suffering and His death are behind them. But the grief is raw. Shock at an empty tomb. Hysterical women. Almost unbelief that he could have risen again. Then the proof as he miraculously appeared to them in the upper room. Guilt and shame that in his hour of need they had let him down, fell asleep in the prayer garden and then stood apart as he was tried and judged. An emotional rollercoaster.
Then Jesus meets them where they are, doing what they know how to do fishing. Take their mind of things? Trying to earn a little cash and do something together, keeping busy.
And there is Jesus at their point of need, where they are, by the sea. In a relaxed setting. Coming as their Shepherd and not their judge. Coming to talk with them and give them opportunity to start again. This is the third time he has appeared. Three times so they can know this is not a dream, not a group hallucination and not anyone else but Jesus. And Jesus provided them with all they needed. A miraculous catch and and breakfast and fellowship with Him and You God.. Thank You that You know how weak we are and need reassurance. How hungry we are to be in Your presence. How much stronger we are when we work together with You. Help us start the day breakfasting in Your presence and listening for what You have to say to us praying for our fellowship where we are – because it is always for our good.
In Jesus name we pray, Amen.

Cornerstone’ is a modern take on an traditional hymn (by Edward Mote) It was re arranged by Reuben Morgan after being reminded of it and inspired by it in the midst of a gun shooting.
My hope is built on nothing less
Than Jesus’ blood and righteousness
I dare not trust the sweetest frame
But wholly trust in Jesus’ Name
When darkness seems to hide His face
I rest on His unchanging grace
In every high and stormy gale
My anchor holds within the veil
Christ alone, Cornerstone
Weak made strong, In the Saviour’s love
Through the storm, He is Lord
His oath, his covenant, his blood,
support me in the whelming flood;
when all around my soul gives way,
he then is all my hope and stay.
Chorus
When He shall come with trumpet sound
Oh may I then in Him be found
Dressed in His righteousness alone
Faultless stand before the throne
