“Now it shall come to pass, when all these things come upon you, the blessing and the curse which I have set before you, and you call them to mind among all the nations where the Lord your God drives you, 2 and you return to the Lord your God and obey His voice, according to all that I command you today, you and your children, with all your heart and with all your soul, 3 that the Lord your God will bring you back from captivity, and have compassion on you, and gather you again from all the nations where the Lord your God has scattered you. 4 If any of you are driven out to the farthest parts under heaven, from there the Lord your God will gather you, and from there He will bring you. 5 Then the Lord your God will bring you to the land which your fathers possessed, and you shall possess it. He will prosper you and multiply you more than your fathers. And the Lord your God will circumcise your heart and the heart of your descendants, to love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul, that you may live.” Deuteronomy 30:1-6
Father of restoration,
What a promise knowing just how easy it was for any generation of Your people to turn away from worshipping and trusting and following You. From gold calves, foreign wives foreign gods, just rebelliousness . . .
All that is asked is that they return with all their heart and soul. Now that is not always easy. Some of us do not like to admit when we are wrong. Or would rather skate over it, leave it frozen in the ice. Trouble is You see all Lord God.
And in Hebrews 6:4-6, You Lord warn us that there may be a point of no return. How hard must a heart become to shut out Your Holy Spirit? But You gave us free will and are a God of judgement and You do not change. But You do call back the prodigal’s and the backsliders even today. So many testimonies of being restored. I see the Father side of Your character calling Your children to return to You too. And asking us to have compassion for others, saving then by pulling them out of the fire (Jude 1:23).
And the beautiful promise at the end of Jude: Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling,
And to present you faultless before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy, to God our Savior,
Who alone is wise, be glory and majesty (jude 1:24,25)
In Jesus name we pray, Amen.
Worship Saturday 28th February 2026
This is new to me and at first all the Amens annoyed me a bit . . . but saying ‘so be it’ and repeating it, is like reinforcing what I believe?
There is a hope for all the suffering
A song of joy for all who weep
There is an anchor for the stumbling
A mighty fortress to the one who is in need
Unto Him who can keep us
Make us blameless in His presence
Unto Jesus unto the only God
Unto Him who has saved us
Be all glory be all majesty
Dominion all authority is Yours
Right now and forevermore
Forevermore Forevermore
Right now and forevermore
Forevermore Forevermore
Your light will overcome the darkness
The crooked roads will be made straight
The valleys lifted up the mountains brought down low
Every tongue will soon confess your name
Unto Him who can keep us
Make us blameless in His presence
Unto Jesus unto the only God
Unto Him who has saved us
Be all glory be all majesty
Dominion all authority is Yours
Right now and forevermore
Amen Amen Amen . . . Amen we sing
Amen Amen Amen . . . Amen we sing
Amen Amen Amen Amen
Unto Him who can keep us
Make us blameless in His presence
Unto Jesus unto the only God
Unto Him who has saved us
Be all glory be all majesty
Dominion all authority is Yours
Right now and forevermore
Forevermore Forevermore
Right now and forevermore
Forevermore Forevermore
Right now and forevermore
