“Ascribe greatness to our God. He is the Rock, His work is perfect; For all His ways are justice,
A God of truth and without injustice; Righteous and upright is He.” Deuteronomy 32:3-4 NKJV

“He (Lord God) found him in a desert land and in the wasteland, a howling wilderness; He encircled him, He instructed him, He kept him as the apple of His eye.” Deuteronomy 32:10 NKJV

Lord God,

Moses delivered a song to the children of Israel at the end of his life. Joshua is to be their next leader but Moses wanted to remind them of their parents history with You and all they can have if they keep their covenant. They are the ones to go into the promised land. And he calls them the apple of Your eye Lord.

Not a reminder of the forbidden fruit (which we do not know was an apple!) from the tree of knowledge in the garden of Eden. But perhaps a reminder of the fruit of the tree of life in that same garden? (Genesis 2:9).

Moses reminds them of their past to help them avoid the same mistakes in the future. Reminding us today not to rebel or be disrespectful to our God. Many wise lessons. And above all the reminder of His never-failing faithfulness. We too face ups and downs in our Christian life but You promise to sustain and keep us as we go forward. And we too know that we are the apple of Your eye and feed from the tree of life because of Jesus.

In Jesus name we pray, Amen.

Suggestions for prayer . . .
Lord God,

For our close family.
For our extended family, friends, neighbours. Miracles.
For our church fellowship, ministers and congregations.
For our king and all those in authority (1 Timothy 2:2). The Royal family’s health.
For Ukraine. May Your will be to end war, soon. Protect and bless Your church.
For Gaza, all the Middle East. Solutions for reconciliation for a lasting peace. End to vengeance.
For the USA during this election time and Your outcome.
For all the athletes taking part in the Paralympics in Paris and their families.
For the autumn term at school starting and the staff and pupils.
For the House of Commons resitting.
For those returning to work after holidays.
For those who do not have the privilege of holidays.
For us to give thanks that with the fruit that exposed our sin, there was a tree of life in the garden. And in Jesus we have life today, Your life and the fruit of Your Spirit.

In Jesus name we pray, Amen.

A bonus worship to remind us to be thankful on a Tuesday morning. . . .

Give thanks to the Lord, our God and King
His love endures forever
For He is good, He is above all things
His love endures forever

Sing praise, sing praise

With a mighty hand and outstretched arm
His love endures forever
For the life that’s been reborn
His love endures forever

Sing praise, sing praise
Sing praise, sing praise

Forever, God is faithful
Forever, God is strong
Forever, God is with us
Forever

From the rising to the setting sun
His love endures forever
And by the grace of God, we will carry on
His love endures forever

Sing praise, sing praise
Sing praise, sing praise, yeah
