“So He came to a city of Samaria which is called Sychar, near the plot of ground that Jacob gave to his son Joseph. 6 Now Jacob’s well was there. Jesus therefore, being wearied from His journey, sat thus by the well. It was about the sixth hour. 7 A woman of Samaria came to draw water. Jesus said to her, “Give Me a drink.” 8 For His disciples had gone away into the city to buy food. 9 Then the woman of Samaria said to Him, “How is it that You, being a Jew, ask a drink from me, a Samaritan woman?” For Jews have no dealings with Samaritans. 10 Jesus answered and said to her, “If you knew the gift of God, and who it is who says to you, ‘Give Me a drink,’ you would have asked Him, and He would have given you living water.” John 4:5-10 NKJV
God of Love,
Jesus weary and thirsty. It reassures me that He was truly human and yet truly divine! He knows what real life feels like. He lived as most people did, he did not have transport or His own land or vineyard. His earthly father was a tradesman. So on this day, he knew hungry and thirst. He let His disciples go ahead to fetch food and waited by a well. A well steeped in history, not any old well. On the plot of land Jacob bought when he returned home and made up with his brother Esau (Genesis 33:18). Where later Josephs bones were laid to rest when the the children of Israel reached the promised land (Joshua 24:32). A well that down through history had seen reconciliation and freedom from slavery.
Now Your Son, who came to reconcile us to You and set us free, is at the well and thirsty. A man and yet one who can offer this woman living water. Like us, she takes a minute to catch on what He is meaning and offering because she is thinking literally about water.
A thirsty Saviour and a resourceful woman (she had the means to draw and contain water). The Saviour thirsty to give her real water and satisfy her soul. We too receive Your water of life to wash us clean and quench our thirst. To satisfy our deepest longing. To be reconciled to You our loving Father and freed from the wages of sin and death to life. Life now and forever.
In Jesus name we pray, Amen.

Worship Wednesday 3rd July 2024
There is a beautiful prayer before the worship begins.
Let Your living water flow over my soul
Let your Holy Spirit come and take control
Of every situation that has troubled my mind
All my cares and burdens on to you I roll
Jesus, Jesus, Jesus
Sing to the Father
Father, Father, Father
Holy Spirit
Spirit, Spirit, Spirit
Let Your living water flow over my soul
Let your Holy Spirit come and take control
Of every situation that has troubled my mind
All my cares and burdens on to you I roll
Come now Holy Spirit and take control
Hold me in your loving arms and make me whole
Wipe away all doubt and fear and take my pride
Draw me to your love and keep me by your side
Let Your living water flow over my soul
Let your Holy Spirit come and take control
Of every situation that has troubled my mind
All my cares and burdens on to you I roll
Thank You Lord . . . .
I just want to thank You lord
