“But I trust in you, Lord; I say, “You are my God.” 15 My times are in your hands; deliver me from the hands of my enemies, from those who pursue me. 16 Let your face shine on your servant; save me in your unfailing love. 17 Let me not be put to shame, Lord, for I have cried out to you; but let the wicked be put to shame and be silent in the realm of the dead. 18 Let their lying lips be silenced, for with pride and contempt they speak arrogantly against the righteous.” Psalm 31:14-18 NIV

Lord, God Almighty,

I know I should worship, praise and thank You at all times. Its hard sometimes because You are beyond my understanding and life distracts me. You are too big to comprehend. And there are so many things and people fighting for my attention. But when I stop, pause for a minute I can remember, Christmas, Easter, Pentecost. You are completely trustworthy and we have the visible image of You in Jesus (Colossians 1:15). The light from Your face shines upon us with unfailing love – present tense.

At the cross, where I first saw the light and the burden of my heart rolled away . . . Isaac Watts wrote that in 1707, and I echo his testimony 315 years later! The same peace he experienced is as real today .We are accepted, loved and forgiven. Even the trespasses that we cannot remember are stamped NOT GUILTY.

Alas like children we learn as we go and make mistakes, slip up, and we miss what we could do. So it is not hard to praise and worship and thank You. For forgiveness, Your encouragement and Your leading. Thank you for Your Holy Spirit within us (John 16:12-15). Shining light into every area of our lives. Keep us humble and teachable.

In Jesus name we pray, Amen.

Worship Friday 11th October 2024

Oh, Lord, You’re beautiful
Your face is all I seek
For when Your eyes are on this child
Your grace abounds to me
Oh, Lord, You’re beautiful
Your face is all I seek
For when Your eyes are on this child
Your grace abounds to me

I wanna to take Your word and shine it all around
But first help me to just to live it, Lord
And when I’m doing well
Help me to never seek a crown
For my reward is giving glory to You

Oh, Lord, please light the fire
That once burnt bright and clear
Replace the lamp of my first love
That burns with holy fear
I wanna take Your word
And shine it all around
But first, help me just to live it, Lord
And when I’m doing well
Help me to never seek a crown
For my reward is giving glory to You

Chorus
