“This is a record of the ancestors of Jesus the Messiah, a descendant of David and of Abraham”
. . . “Josiah was the father of Jehoiachin and his brothers (born at the time of the exile to Babylon). After the Babylonian exile: Jehoiachin was the father of Shealtiel. Shealtiel was the father of Zerubbabel.” Matthew 1:1, 1:11,12 NLT
God Omnipresent,
After many Kings who did evil in Your sight comes a very young Josiah, just 8 years old when made king of Judah. A good king who loved You and sought to help his people, the Israelites, obey You and stop worshipping idols. When older, he started to repair the temple and make it beautiful again.
Hilkiah, priest, found the book of the Law of the Lord given by Moses and took it to Josiah. (2 Kings 22:8). Shaphan read it out loud at Josiah’s request. Josiah acted upon it, repented and read it to the men of Judah, the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the priests, the Levites, and all the people, great and small! (2 Chronicles 34:30). He read the Word and it changed Him and his people.
It reminds us how powerful Your Word is when read with an open seeking heart. How powerful it is when read out loud. How wonderful to see and hear You through it. All those in Your lineage all have played a part in Your history leading to redemption. Thank You for the Old and the New Testaments but most of all that the Bible is a living powerful two edged sword when read with Your Holy Spirit. May it change us for good to be more like You.
In Jesus name we pray, Amen.

Worship Wednesday 11th December 2024
The chorus is Psalms 119:105. Remember the chorus, remember scripture!
Thy word is a lamp unto my feet
and a light unto my path.
When I feel afraid, think I’ve lost my way,
still you’re there right beside me,
and nothing will I fear as Iong as you are near.
Please be near me to the end.
Thy word is a lamp unto my feet
and a light unto my path.
I will not forget your love for me,
and yet my heart forever is wandering.
Jesus, be my guide and hold me to your side,
and I will love you to the end.
Thy word is a lamp unto my feet
and a light unto my path.
