“The vision of Isaiah the son of Amoz, which he saw concerning Judah and Jerusalem in the days of Uzziah, Jotham, Ahaz, and Hezekiah, kings of Judah. Hear, O heavens, and give ear, O earth! For the Lord has spoken: “I have nourished and brought up children, and they have rebelled against Me; the ox knows its owner and the donkey its master’s crib; but Israel does not know, My people do not consider.” Isaiah 1:1-3 NKJV

“In the year that king Uzziah died I saw also the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up, and his train filled the temple. Above it stood the seraphims: each one had six wings; with twain he covered his face, and with twain he covered his feet, and with twain he did fly. And one cried unto another, and said, Holy, holy, holy, is the Lord of hosts: the whole earth is full of his glory. And the posts of the door moved at the voice of him that cried, and the house was filled with smoke. Then said I, Woe is me! for I am undone; because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips: for mine eyes have seen the King, the Lord of hosts. Then flew one of the seraphims unto me, having a live coal in his hand, which he had taken with the tongs from off the altar: And he laid it upon my mouth, and said, Lo, this hath touched thy lips; and thine iniquity is taken away, and thy sin purged. Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me.” Isaiah 6:1-8 NKJV

Father God,

It is only as I read these first 6 chapters of Isaiah again, in one sitting, that I noticed that Isaiah’s Temple call came after He was already serving You as a prophet and speaking Your message. And being told they are not even as bright as a donkey who recognises its master!

I see chapter 6 from a different angle. Rather than being Your calling Him to service, it was more of a dedication and confirmation? He had already heard Your call and obeyed and was doing it. Which made me think about how prophecy today when given in church is usually to confirm to a person what You God are already telling them by Your Spirit. This is a good test for prophecy.

It must have had an awesome effect of Isaiah. To glimpse Your might, majesty and holiness. But then to be touched personally with Your confirmation, purification and commitment to the task.
Remind us Lord that sometimes we just need to get involved and listen for Your confirmation. If we are in the right place, You will let us know. We can have confidence that when we are called to serve You, You are in it with us it is not all on our shoulders. How wonderful.

In Jesus name we pray, Amen.

Worship Wednesday 10th June 2026
Just had to be this. I shall be humming it for days . . . love it.

I, the Lord of sea and sky,
I have heard my people cry.
All who dwell in deepest sin
My hand will save.
I who made the stars of night,
I will make their darkness bright.
Who will bear my light to them?
Whom shall I send?

Here I am Lord. Is it I Lord?
I have heard you calling in the night.
I will go Lord, if you lead me.
I will hold your people in my heart.

I, the Lord of snow and rain,
I have borne my people’s pain.
I have wept for love of them.
They turn away.
I will break their hearts of stone,
Give them hearts for love alone.
I will speak my word to them,
Whom shall I send?

Chorus

I, the Lord of wind and flame,
I will tend the poor and lame.
I will set a feast for them.
My hand will save.
Finest bread I will provide
Till their hearts be satisfied.
I will give my life to them.
Whom shall I send?

Lyrics: Daniel L. Schutte
