“But do not fear, O My servant Jacob, and do not be dismayed, O Israel! For behold, I will save you from afar, and your offspring from the land of their captivity; Jacob shall return, have rest and be at ease; no one shall make him afraid. 28 Do not fear, O Jacob My servant,” says the Lord, “For I am with you; for I will make a complete end of all the nations to which I have driven you, but I will not make a complete end of you. I will rightly correct you, for I will not leave you wholly unpunished.” Jeremiah 46:27-28 NKJV
Lord, Master and God,
Even though they will fall into Your hands for destruction, because they refuse to turn back to You, God, You speak hope to them. With You there is always hope.
We read in Jeremiah 29:11,12 of the hope that You wrote about to the exiles 10 years before this word. You always keep Your promises. Now, in their history, even though it seems to be even darker there is still that promise of hope. One day their enemies will be no more.
Hope keeps us looking for and to You. We put our trust and hope in You for today, for tomorrow and for that day when our enemies will be no more. Your hope sustains us, calms us and even carries us. Is that what is called blind faith? But we have seen hope fulfilled so many times and more than all in Jesus.
“God of our hope fill us with all joy and peace as we trust in You, so that we may overflow with hope by the power of Your Holy Spirit.” (Romans 15:13: )
“Praise be to You, God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In Your great mercy You have given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.” (1 Peter 1:3)
“Yet this I call to mind and therefore I have hope: Because of Your great love Lord we are not consumed, for Your compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness.” (Lamentations 3:21–24)
In Jesus name we pray, Amen.

My hope is built on nothing less
Than Jesus blood and righteousness
I dare not trust the sweetest frame
But wholly trust in Jesus name
My hope is built on nothing less
Than Jesus blood and righteousness
I dare not trust the sweetest frame
But wholly trust in Jesus name
Christ alone, Cornerstone
Weak made strong in the Saviour’s love
Through the storm, He is Lord, Lord of all
When darkness seems to hide His face
I rest on His unchanging grace
In every high and stormy gale
My anchor holds within the veil
Christ alone, Cornerstone
Weak made strong in the Saviour’s love
Through the storm, He is Lord Lord of all
He is Lord, Lord of all
Christ alone, Cornerstone
Weak made strong in the Saviour’s love
Through the storm, He is Lord, Lord of all
Lord of all
