“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths. Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord and depart from evil. It will be health to your flesh, and strength to your bones.Honor the Lord with your possessions, and with the firstfruits of all your increase; 10 so your barns will be filled with plenty, and your vats will overflow with new wine.11 My son, do not despise the chastening of the Lord, nor detest His correction; 12 for whom the Lord loves He corrects, just as a father the son in whom he delights. Proverbs 3:5-11 NKJV

Holy God,

These verses in Proverbs contain the wonderful promise that if we can trust beyond our human understanding and acknowledge and follow You, God. You will direct our lives for good. As You called Your people Israel to follow Your commandments so Jesus, likening Himself to a shepherd, calls us to trust and follow Him today.(John 10:27).

With all of our heart. That is not always easy when we have unanswered questions or have to take a leap of faith to believe beyond human understanding . . . To acknowledge You in every part of our lives that to is not easy, or is it? Or do we fool ourselves?. Sometimes we just feel like we want time off for good behaviour. And You know it full well Lord. When we get asked the questions about why You allow suffering and why there is disease. We struggle to answer. I cannot always explain it easily when put on the spot.

But it is our desire to trust, look for Your direction and understanding and not look to our own. When all is said and done, You are the one to change hearts regardless of my words. You are the one who inspires me to try and does not judge my efforts. And uses what I offer. You are so generous with Your grace, mercy and patient long-suffering and joy. Thank you and lead me on.
In Jesus name we pray, Amen

The od and the new worship for today.

Blessed Assurance, Jesus is mine
He’s been my fourth man in the fire, time after time
Born of His Spirit, washed in His blood
And what He did for me on Calvary is more than enough

I trust in God, my Savior
The one who will never fail
He will never fail
I trust in God, my Savior
The one who will never fail
He will never fail

Perfect submission, all is at rest
I know the author of tomorrow has ordered my steps
So this is my story and this is my song
I’m praising my risen King and Savior all the day long

I trust in God, my Savior
The one who will never fail
He will never fail
I trust in God, my Savior
The one who will never fail
He will never fail

I sought the Lord and He heard and He answered
I sought the Lord and He heard and He answered
I sought the Lord and He heard and He answered
That’s why I trust Him, that’s why I trust Him
Repeat . . . twice

Chorus

I sought the Lord and He heard and He answered
I sought the Lord and He heard and He answered
I sought the Lord and He heard and He answered
That’s why I trust Him, that’s why I trust in God

“Then the children of Israel, the whole congregation, came into the Wilderness of Zin in the first month, and the people stayed in Kadesh; and Miriam died there and was buried there. Now there was no water for the congregation; so they gathered together against Moses and Aaron. And the people contended with Moses and spoke, saying: “If only we had died when our brethren died before the Lord! Why have you brought up the assembly of the Lord into this wilderness, that we and our animals should die here? And why have you made us come up out of Egypt, to bring us to this evil place? It is not a place of grain or figs or vines or pomegranates; nor is there any water to drink.” So Moses and Aaron went from the presence of the assembly to the door of the tabernacle of meeting, and they fell on their faces. And the glory of the Lord appeared to them. Then the Lord spoke to Moses, saying, “Take the rod; you and your brother Aaron gather the congregation together. Speak to the rock before their eyes, and it will yield its water; thus you shall bring water for them out of the rock, and give drink to the congregation and their animals.” So Moses took the rod from before the Lord as He commanded him.” Numbers 20:2-9 NKJV

Father and Lord,

Last year we touched on this passage where Moses lost his patience and his right to pass into the promised land. But actually we need to see it from Gods perspective. We wonder at all Moses doing and going through to get so near and then one mistake and he dies before stepping into the land of milk and honey. But perhaps it needed a new leadership for the next phase.

And the problem with Moses? Moses brings the peoples moaning of no water to You. You tell him to take his staff and speak to the rock. So he takes his staff. Does he not listen or simply reverts to what he did last time? Sometimes Father You are in the detail and we need to listen closely not presume. And I am learning that You, creative Father and God do not do things the same way all the time! Even if like Moses sometimes I can make things happen.

And we need to remember that You did not kill off Moses but took Him to Yourself. You allowed Him to encourage and stand with Jesus on the Mount of transfiguration (Matthew 17:1-9) in the promised land. Moses saw Your passover lamb, Your Son and the fulfilment of Your Law. What a gracious, merciful, kind God You are.

We cannot always understand Your ways or see the outcomes but we can trust You. We can listen and learn and when we get it wrong, Jesus corrects us and leads us on and loves us still.

In Jesus name we pray, Amen.

“We always thank God for all of you and pray for you constantly. As we pray to our God and Father about you, we think of your faithful work, your loving deeds, and the enduring hope you have because of our Lord Jesus Christ.” 1 Thessalonians 1:1:1-3 NLT

4“Even while we were with you, we warned you that troubles would soon come—and they did, as you well know. That is why, when I could bear it no longer, I sent Timothy to find out whether your faith was still strong. I was afraid that the tempter had gotten the best of you and that our work had been useless. But now Timothy has just returned, bringing us good news about your faith and love.” 1 Thessalonians 3:1-6 NLT

“And now, dear brothers and sisters, we want you to know what will happen to the believers who have died so you will not grieve like people who have no hope. 14 For since we believe that Jesus died and was raised to life again, we also believe that when Jesus returns, God will bring back with him the believers who have died. 15 We tell you this directly from the Lord: We who are still living when the Lord returns will not meet him ahead of those who have died. 16 For the Lord himself will come down from heaven with a commanding shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trumpet call of God. First, the believers who have died will rise from their graves. 17 Then, together with them, we who are still alive and remain on the earth will be caught up in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. ” 1 Thessalonians 4:13-17 NLT

Father God,

Paul wrote to the church in Thessalonica (Acts 17:1-4) soon after leaving. He wrote to give thanks for them for their love and hope. And to encourage them in their difficult situation. And to know without a doubt their future.

How wonderful to be remembered for faithfulness, love and hope and not for reciting their problems and difficulties. They didn’t need to be broadcast those as they were easy to see! It is difficult some times not to share the hinderances and antagonism that sometimes surrounds us. Rather than looking to God for encouragement and sharing that. We are emotional beings and their are times we need to talk to someone and not bottle things up. But not to become a broken record of negatives.

So today I use the first three verses as a prayer for my church fellowship and will try to live so they can see something of those qualities in me . . . And keep in mind that one day I will be with Jesus.

In Jesus name we pray, Amen.

Worship Thursday 27th November 2025

Blessed assurance, Jesus is mine!
Oh, what a foretaste of glory divine!
Heir of salvation, purchase of God,
born of his Spirit, washed in his blood.

This is my story, this is my song,
praising my Savior all the day long.
This is my story, this is my song,
praising my Savior all the day long.

Perfect communion, perfect delight,
visions of rapture now burst on my sight.
Angels descending bring from above
echoes of mercy, whispers of love.

Chorus

Perfect submission, all is at rest.
I in my Savior am happy and bless’d,
watching and waiting, looking above,
filled with his goodness, lost in his love.

Chorus
