“And they heard the sound of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the Lord God among the trees of the garden. Then the Lord God called to Adam and said to him, “Where are you?” So he said, “I heard Your voice in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked; and I hid myself.”” Genesis 3:8-10 NKJV
“Also for Adam and his wife the Lord God made tunics of skin, and clothed them.” Genesis 3:21 NKJV

Giver of Life, Father God,

When I do something wrong and know it – it usually gives birth to two things, regret and shame. And I am not talking life changing sin just the stuff we trip into. You covered Adam and Eve’s sin and shame by covering their nakedness with skin. Blood was shed because of them! It points to jesus who You sent, not to cover our sin and shame but to pay for it. There was no other good enough. Your Word starts with Your provision and we start the year rejoicing in it.

So let us lay aside the sin which so easily ensnares us, and run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. (Hebrews 12:2). Jesus took away our guilt and our shame once and for all on the cross. It cost You not us. Keep us worshipping and seeking Your voice in the cool of the evening, at the start of the day . . .

In Jesus name we pray, Amen.

Worship Thursday 2nd January 2025
Read out loud it is a powerful prayer for the new year. We are only one day in after all . . .

Speak, O Lord, as we come to You
To receive the food of Your holy Word
Take Your truth, plant it deep in us
Shape and fashion us in Your likeness
That the light of Christ might be seen today
In our acts of love and our deeds of faith
Speak, O Lord, and fulfill in us
All Your purposes for Your glory

Teach us, Lord, full obedience
Holy reverence, true humility
Test our thoughts and our attitudes
In the radiance of Your purity
Cause our faith to rise, cause our eyes to see
Your majestic love and authority
Words of pow’r that can never fail
Let their truth prevail over unbelief

Speak, O Lord, and renew our minds
Help us grasp the heights of Your plans for us
Truths unchanged from the dawn of time
That will echo down through eternity
And by grace, we’ll stand on Your promises
And by faith, we’ll walk as You walk with us
Speak, O Lord, ’til Your church is built
And the earth is filled with Your glory

Lyrics:  Keith Getty / Stuart Townend

Pray for our world, your world and yourself. We need it.

“In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth”.  Genesis 1:1
“And God said, “Let the land produce living creatures according to their kinds: the livestock, the creatures that move along the ground, and the wild animals, each according to its kind.” And it was so. God made the wild animals according to their kinds, the livestock according to their kinds, and all the creatures that move along the ground according to their kinds. And God saw that it was good. Then God said, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.” Genesis 1:24-26 NIV

Our Father,

Who breathed life into our world. Who created all good things that amaze us, fill us with wonder and questions and delight. Who created living things which could reproduce. Even the trees and plants without breath live and have the ability to reproduce and continue.

You are throughout Genesis the breath of mans life. Without You Adam and Eve were just dust and bone. Even when mankind rebels, sins and disobeys, you enable life. After Adam and Eve sinned they still lived and produced children. After Cain killed Abel (Genesis 4:8) You still gave them offspring. After mankind indulged in great wickedness you provided hope and opportunity through Noah and his family.

Now amidst great wickedness today we see Your provision of hope and life for us through Jesus. Thank you for creation, not giving up on us and breathing everlasting life and hope in us through Your Son.

In Jesus name we pray, Amen.

Worship Wednesday 1st January 2025

Jesus is Lord ! Creation’s voice proclaims it,
for by his power each tree and flower was planned and made.
Jesus is Lord ! The universe declares it ;
sun, moon and stars in heaven cry : Jesus is Lord!

Jesus is Lord ! Jesus is Lord!
praise him with Alleluias, for Jesus is Lord!

2 Jesus is Lord ! Yet from his throne eternal
in flesh he came to die in pain on Calvary’s tree.
Jesus is Lord ! From him all life proceeding,
yet gave his life a ransom, thus setting us free.

3 Jesus is Lord ! O’er sin the mighty conqueror,
from death he rose ; and all his foes shall own his name.
Jesus is Lord ! God sends his Holy Spirit
to show by works of power that Jesus is Lord.

Lyrics: David Mansell.

Now He who establishes us with you in Christ and has anointed us is God, who also has sealed us and given us the Spirit in our hearts as a guarantee.” 2 Corinthians 1:21,22 NKJ

Lord God, King of Kings,

How great Thou art. Great is thy faithfulness. Dear Lord and Father of mankind. Jesus, name above all names. Hymns that stir us to worship, help and enable us to praise you for your goodness towards us. You are God. You give good gifts, you light the way ahead, you comfort us, you wash our past with forgiveness and take away our shame. Hallelujah.

The news and newspapers are still full of the Coronation and anointing of Charles as King. And it reminds me that You. the King of Kings, have established me, us with all the other believers in Jesus Christ and anointed us. How wonderful it is to remember that we too had our own anointing moment when we asked You into our lives and You came by Your Spirit. We are part of another Kingdom and together with all the other subjects we are united as one. Millions of us! Sharing the same immeasurable love of God, the same priceless forgiveness, the same eternal hope.

It is the same Spirit that raised Christ from the dead that dwells in us, all of us, uniting us. (Romans 8:11). Your Spirit in our hearts a guarantee from you to all of us! A guarantee of your love, presence and commitment. We are united in Your love and care. And a call to serve and love each other. What an assurance that gives us today and every day.

In Jesus name we pray, Amen

Lord God,

We bring our family , friends and church family to You for their needs and hearts desires. For their health and their safety and help in life’s situations.

We continue to plead for freedom from war for Ukraine and Russia. We continue to plead for freedom from warring factions within Sudan and good leadership to arise.

Our hearts go out to the  villages in eastern Democratic Republic of Congo and those close to the shore of Lake Kivu where there has been torrential rainfall and mudslides. Comfort those who mourn and grant that help and relief will get to those who have lost everything.

In Jesus name we pray, Amen

Worship Tuesday 9th May 2023

Blessed assurance, Jesus is mine!
Oh, what a foretaste of glory divine!
Heir of salvation, purchase of God
Born of his Spirit, washed in His blood

This is my story, this is my song
Praising my Savior all the day long
This is my story, this is my song
Praising my Savior all the day long

Perfect submission, all is at rest,
I in my Savior am happy and blest;
Watching and waiting, looking above,
Filled with His goodness, lost in His love.

In 1873, two close friends, Fanny Crosby and Phoebe Knapp gathered together and unexpectedly developed what we would refer to today as the song, “Blessed Assurance”, one working as the composer, the other as the writer.

Fanny was only two months old when she suffered from an eye infection, received improper treatment and was left mostly blind for the rest of her life. Only able to sense light and dark. Her father passed away when she was a baby, and her mother worked as a maid. Fanny’s grandmother raised her. She did not see Fanny’s inability to see as a disability, she read Scripture to her, so Fanny memorize passages by heart. Although memorizing Scripture was a huge part of Fanny’s early years, it wasn’t until 1850 (30 years of age) that she officially committed her life to Jesus Christ.
